Launch of free newspaper for south-east Meath towns

Forum editor Meghan Smith, speaking at the launch of the new paper in Ashbourne last Thursday morning.

Meath Chronicle parent company, Celtic Media Group, last week launched a new free newspaper for towns in the south-east of the county.

Forum will be published every second Thursday and delivered to homes in Ashbourne, Ratoath, Dunboyne and Dunshaughlin. Edited by Ashbourne resident Meghan Smith, it has a print run of 16,000 and will concentrate on news and sport in the four towns and will also be able to draw on the editorial resources of the Meath Chronicle. It is printed by Celtic Media Press in Navan.

The new paper's website - www.yourforum.ie - will also have a strong emphasis on community interaction.

Forum was launched at a breakfast briefing to local businesspeople and community figures at the Ashbourne Marriott Hotel last Thursday morning as the first edition was being delivered to homes in the four towns. Initial reaction from advertisers and readers has been very positive.
