Trim man in 'dedicated GAA fan' national final
Devoted Meath GAA Fan Brian Flynn from Trim has reached the final of the SuperValu and Irish Sun competition to find 'Ireland's Most Dedicated Fan' and is seeking the public's votes to help him win €15,000 for his local club. To help Brian (16) be in with a chance of winning €15,000 to support GAA in Meath and his local community of Trim as well as securing the glory of a Meath man being crowned 'Ireland's Most Dedicated GAA Fan', people can vote for Brian now on www.supervalu.ie. The closing day for voting is midnight next Tuesday, 10th August. Brian hopes to use the prize money to fund a new scoreboard for Trim GAA Club and to build a stand and floodlighting for the new pitch. This would make Trim GAA Club one of the best overall facilities in the county. Should he be crowned the winner, he will also receive a VIP package, including accommodation and tickets to the All-Ireland Football Final in September. Brian dedicates all his time and money to the GAA, spending his spare time in Trim GAA club training and refereeing younger juveniles. Brian can't imagine a life without GAA football - having a sore throat the day after Meath play, the devastation of loss that makes winning all the sweeter, missing the banter with rivals club and county, the simplicity of playing the best game in the world and the joy of training and nurturing up and coming talent. Brian said the GAA is "the guiding light of my life, and long may it stay as such".
