IKEA visit turns out to be profitable for local couple
A Ratoath couple were in the right place at the right time last week when they walked through the doors of IKEA's new store in Ballymun.
On Tuesday of last week, IKEA Dublin gave a warm Swedish welcome to the store's one millionth visitor, when Paul and Cliona Lee with their three-month-old daughter Molly entered the store to a fanfare of celebrations and scooped a €1,000 shopping spree as a result.
Garry Deakin, Dublin IKEA store manager, said: "We were delighted to welcome our one millionth visitor to the store and to celebrate a significant milestone for IKEA Dublin. I speak for all co-workers when I say that we have been overwhelmed by the positive consumer response to the store since opening and we look forward to sharing our unique and great value Christmas range with shoppers over the coming weeks."
Since opening the doors on the 27th July last, the store has enjoyed average daily footfall in excess of 15,000 in the first month of opening. Irish consumers are continuing to embrace the IKEA shopping experience with average daily footfall figures remaining high at over 12,000.
