Autumn courses at Trim's Boyne Community School

Boyne Community School, Trim, is offering a wide choice of courses this autumn with a greater emphasis on certificate and diploma courses.

On Monday nights there is the CPA Formation 2 course in Accountancy, the next course for business graduates or for those who have completed ATI (formerly IATI). ATI is a course for accounting technicians and is being offered at both foundation and admission levels. The Red Cross teaches and certifies the First Aid certificate.

Tuesday night courses include the Certificate in First Line Management from the NCI, and the ECDL for those with good IT skills already.

The Wednesday Certificate courses are the Diploma in Special Needs, a Fetac Level 6 course (for those who have done the certificate course already), and Economics and Finance for NUI Maynooth; a foundation course in Maths, accounting and economics. The Certificate in Training & Continuing Education for trainers who need a teaching qualification, is another NUI Maynooth course.

It will be held over four Thursday evenings and three Saturdays.

Three Leaving Certificate subjects are being offered in the evening right throughout the year - English and Maths at Ordinary level and Higher Level Irish.

The other craft, skill and leisure courses on Monday are Card Making, Photography, DIY, Solidworks (CAD), Computers for Beginners, Jewellery Making, Painting for Pleasure, the Psychology of Life, Herbs for the Home, Soft Furnishing, Aerobics, Interior Design, Creative Writing and Eating In - the New Eating Out. Genealogy Made Easy (at 4pm) will be on Monday and not on Wednesday as advertised.

The special interest courses on Tuesday are Ashtanga Yoga, Guitar, French, Genealogy, Italian Cooking, Golf, Woodwork, Drums, An Intro' to 20th Century Irish Writers, Toastmasters, Computers for Improvers (and Made Easy) and Basic Car Maintenance.

On Wednesdays there are classes in Pottery, Spanish, Cake Decorating, Keyboard Skills, Grow Your Own, Play and the Developing Child, Healing Meditation, Web Development, History of Art or Bridge. For those new to the country, there is also English as a Second Language.

Enrolment in person starts today (Wednesday) daily from 12 noon to 1pm and 4pm-5pm or online at any time through the website, www.boyneadulteducation.com.

Classes start on Monday 21st September.
