There was widespread sadness following the passing of Mr Edward (Ned) Gillespie, Main Street, Enfield, after a short illness, at the Hermitage Medical Clinic, Lucan, Co Dublin, on 28th December last.

Tom Dunne made his final journey through the town he loved so well on Monday morning of this week, passing his former shoe store on Navan's Trimgate Street and his family home on Boyne Road, on his way to be laid to rest in St Mary's Cemetery.

The regretted death occurred on 8th December last of Mr Thomas (Tommy) Cahill, Grange Bective, Navan, aged 83. He was a native of Parnell Park, and passed away less than six months after his wife, Jane, who died on 26th June last.

Mr Lawrence (Larry) Dunne of Gormanston, who died on Wednesday 28th December last, was a prominent cyclist in the days when the sport enjoyed a high profile in Meath and the county produced many successful teams and individuals in such events as the Rás Tailteann, now the An Post Rás.
