Mr Joe Lynch, the former director of the Artane Boys' Band, who died in November, was a native of Kells.

Mrs Norrie Kavanagh, Barrack Street, Oldcastle, who died peacefully at the home of her eldest daughter, Leonora, and son-in-law, Tom Lee, on Thursday 5th January, was a member of a well-known local family in the town.
