Tara's Natalya selected to carry Olympic Flame

Meath's Olympic hopeful, Natalya Coyle, will carry the Olympic Torch through Dublin on 6th June. The young Tara woman, who is aiming to qualify for the London Olympics, will be one of three Trinity students who will carry the torch through Dublin. The modern pentathlete, who has so far this year represented Ireland at two World Cups, is studying business, economics and social studies at Trinity and is on course to qualify for the pentathlon event at the London Games. She is the currently the number 43 ranked pentathlete in the world. "I'm really looking forward to this. I'll know on 31st May whether I've definitely qualified for London or not, but I'll be carrying the torch in any case, due to this selection." The students were selected as part of a programme organised by Olympic sponsor Samsung, and the other two from Trinity will be marathon runner Mark Kenneally and Áine Ní Choisdealbha, a first year scholar who was awarded the Trinity Gold Medal in 2011 for her outstanding results in her psychology degree. In total a group of 40 will carry the torch during its visit to Dublin on 6th June, along with Olympic medallist and Chef De Mission of the Irish Olympic team, Sonia O'Sullivan.
