Nobber vintage group raises €1,100 for Pakistan flood appeal

A total of €1,100 has been raised as a result of the Nobber Vintage Club's Pakistan Flood Appeal which was held last Saturday.

The club's run included 19 vintage tractors, nine cars and two motorbikes and it left Nobber at about 12.30pm. It travelled to Castletown, to Legagh Lane, Manus's Cross, Ladyrath Cross, Rathkenny, Tankardstown, Gormanlough and Stackallen before arriving at Kilberry where the group stopped for food, and then went on to Gibbstown and back to Wilkinstown.

Members of neighbouring vintage clubs including the Royal Breffni Vintage Club, Four Counties Vintage Club, the North Meath Vintage Club, North Meath Macra na Feirme and the Boyne Valley Vintage Club.

The participants stopped halfway en route at Scanlon's of Kilberry where former Meath All-Ireland winner David Beggy is the new proprietor and where tea and coffee and sandwiches were prepared for the participants.

Nobber Vintage Club chairman Dermot McCormack thanked all who took part, including the neighbouring vintage clubs, and James Carolan of Nobber Vintage Club who was the main organiser of the event on Saturday.
