Artist Mark Smith and Aileen McLoughlin with their coin art display at Navan Town Centre.

A Meath artist produced a unique work of art in Navan Town Centre recently to raise fuinds for Navan RehabCare.

Along with a number of volunteers, Mark Smith created a decorated message on the floor of the shopping centre using one, two and five cent coins. The message read '1 Day for Navan Rehab Care'.

The coins used were donated by local banks and businesses as well as families and friends of service users at RehabCare.

The public were then asked to replace each brown coin with a €1 or €2 coin.

All the money raised will go towards Navan RehabCare to purchase art supplies and other matierials as well as to fund trips and other projects.

Mark Smith is working with RehabCare for the next year and this is being paid for by Vodafone's World of Difference Programme. Mark is one of four winners who will have their salary paid for a year while working for the charity of their choice.
