Under the terms of the new deal, which will be worth in the region of €300,000 annually, Energia will supply Eurolink's tolling operations at Kilcock and Dunboyne with over three gigawatt hours (GWhrs) of electricity.
Commenting on the deal, Enda Tyrrell, operations manager with Eurolink, said: "Following the deregulation of the electricity supply market, Eurolink went to the market to obtain the most competitive rate to supply electricity to both the M3 and M4 motorways.
Energia was the most competitive and we switched to them in December 2010, which we found to be an easy and hassle-free operation. We look forward to working with Energia into the future."
Shane Canavan, key account manager with Energia, said Eurolink was another example of a large Irish corporate switching to Energia to benefit from its expertise, service and cost savings. He said Energia's competitive energy offerings - gas, and green and conventional power - can make a big difference to businesses' bottom line.
"Building on our 25 per cent share of the business electricity market, Energia is now making major inroads in the gas and unmetered electricity markets," he added.
Energia is Ireland's leading independent energy supply company with over 65,000 customers.
The company also supplies 30 per cent of all gas consumed in Ireland by the country's business gas-users. In addition to renewable assets, the company also operates a 750mW gas-fired power station in north Dublin.
A member of the Viridian Group, it has 255mW of operational renewable electricity capacity contracted within its energy portfolio, with a further 484mW of wind farm projects currently in development across Ireland.
The company recently signed a preliminary off-take agreement to purchase the electricity generated from the pioneering wave energy coverter being operated by US firm Ocean Energy Systems (OES) off Belmullet, Co Mayo.
