JJ McNamara and his cousins will feature in the ESB Great Christmas Concert 2018 at the National Concert Hall in Dublin.

Double dates for JJ in Trim and Dublin

Building on the success of its 2017 Classical Christmas Evening, Trim Tourism Network presents ‘A Classical Christmas Evening II’  in St Patrick's Cathedral on Wednesday 5th December.

This Classical Christmas Evening features the return of pianist JJ McNamara and singer Leah Barniville along with Frank McNamara who will accompany some of the performers, Vladimir Jablokov on violin, while trained soprano, Rebecca Winckworth also features. Local Trim talent, Credo and Kevin Fagan also feature to complete the 2018 line-up.
The evening starts with a mulled wine reception at 7pm and the show getting underway at 7.30pm, with master of ceremonies, Virgin Media One’s Deric Ó h’Artagáin. Meanwhile, on Thursday night, 6th December, JJ McNamara will feature in the ESB Great Christmas Concert 2018 at the National Concert Hall in Dublin.
The Great Christmas Concert celebrates the continued success of Ireland’s foremost musical festival, Feis Ceoil, founded in 1897. On this special occasion The Lassus Scholars and Piccolo Lasso, with conductor Dr Ite O’Donovan, will be joined by the Orlando Chamber Orchestra, under leader Gillian Williams.


ESB Feis Ceoil prize-winners and extraordinarly talented young stars of the stage, flautist Meadhbh O’Rourke (playing Poulenc Flute Sonata arr. Lennox Berkeley) and JJ McNamara (playing the third movement of Chopin’s 1st piano concerto) will also join the festivities.


Currently appearing in the role of Adina in Donizetti’s  L’Elisir d’Amore in Oslo Opera House having given highly-acclaimed performances in Zurich, Rome, London, Berlin and New York, guest soprano Claudia Boyle will sing operatic arias by Bizet (Comme autrefois), Donizetti (O luce di quest’anima) and Gounod (Je veux vivre).
The festive evening of choral Christmas favorites will be completed by audience participation in carols and Chrismas songs and a chance to sing-a-long in the "Hallelujah Chorus".
