Experience Japanese Hanami in Farmleigh at weekend

The Experience Japan Hanami Festival takes place in the grounds of Farmleigh House in the Phoenix Park on Sunday 22nd April, celebrating  Irish and Japanese culture.
Join members of Dublin's Japanese community and Dublin based groups interested in Japanese culture to celebrate a Hanami (Cherry Blossom) Festival.  Hanami is an annual event in Japan where friends and family come together for outdoor parties to welcome spring and celebrate nature.  Activities at this, the ninth year of the hugely popular festival which is hosted by the Office of Public Works at Farmleigh, include:-

•    Taiko drum performances
•    Martial Arts demonstrations
•    Music and Dance with a fusion of Japanese and Irish performances
•    Origami and craft workshops
•    Yo-Yo fishing and other fun activities for children
•    Cosplay fashions framed with traditional Kimono displays
•    Japanese food stalls
•    Soranbushi dancing

Travelling to the Festival


Dublin Bus will provide a FREE RETURN SHUTTLE BUS SERVICE to the Festival Day in Farmleigh on Sunday 22 April. The best way to get to access the festival is to take 1 of the 15 shuttle buses running between stop 7078 on Parkgate Street and the Chesterfield roundabout just outside Farmleigh. Buses will run between 11:30am and 6pm. Parking will be limited at the venue.
