Choirs and guests for charity concert in Navan

Meath County Council is hosting a Summer Festival of Choirs Charity Concert at Solstice Arts Centre on Thursday 8th June, at 8pm.
The concert is a celebration of music and song to mark the tenth anniversary of Meath County Council Ladies’ Choir, with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer Day Care Centre, Navan and to the Meath Special Hands Activity Group.

The choir will be joined by council choirs from Kildare and Offaly and by the Navan Male Voice Choir and Credo Vocal Ensemble. The music of the choirs will be complemented by performances from special guest Navan tenor Andrew Gavin and guest soloists including Colette Grant, Teresa Carley and Siobhán McAleese.
MC will be Kevin Stewart, Director of Services, who is looking forward to taking to the stage “A great night of entertainment is promised and with lots of choral singing, solo performances, dance and wonderful accompaniment by our pianist and string quartet.”
Chief Executive, Jackie Maguire is delighted that the Council is in a position to host the concert and celebrate ten years of the choir “we are looking forward to welcoming our guests and having a wonderful evening that will help raise funds for our two local charities.” she said.
Simon Orrock, from Ashbourne is the musical director of Meath County Council Choir, which was founded ten years ago and performs at various Council functions and community events.
