Rooney named as judge for Navan RFC 'Scrum' event

Comedian Joe Rooney who is well known to many for his role of Fr Damo in the famous Father Ted series has been announced as one of the judges for Navan RFC's 'Strictly Scrum Dancing' event on Good Friday, 14th April. 

Originally from Galway Rooney has lived in Meath for most of his life and has carved out a career for himself as one of Ireland's foremost comedians and entertainers. 

As well as presenting his own comedy show at events around Ireland, Rooney has also appeared in TV programmes such as 'The Old Grey Whistle Theft' and the RTE television comedy, 'Killinaskully' in which he plays Timmy Higgins. 

Other members of the judging panel will include Navan RFC's Stephen Mackarel and Carol Mallon who is a choreographer with event organisers Rowe Productions. 

The Navan Rugby Club dancers will engage in a battle of sequins, suits and style, aiming be crowned the Navan RFC Strictly Scrum Dancing Champions 2017. 

Rigorous training is currently underway for all the contestants in preparation for the performance of a lifetime!

The live show is taking place in  Knightsbrook Hotel on Good Friday 14th April to an audience of up to 1200 people!
