The cast of 'Holiday Snap'.

Holiday comedy for Ramor stage

After taking a break in 2016, the experienced and award-winning Sliabh Glah Drama Group are back on the boards again this year.

At Ramor Theatre, Virginia on 31st March and 1st April they are staging the John Chapman and Michael Pertwee hilarious farce 'Holiday Snap'. It’s very apt that the Ramor should stage this classic farce on April Fool’s night.

This comic tale of mistaken identity unfolds with real wit and style. A Portuguese time share villa has been double booked without the company representative, Commander 'Chitto' Chittenden knowing. When Mary and Henry arrive shortly after Eve and Leslie, Chitto manages to remain unaware that there is more than one couple on the scene. The confusion is compounded when each couple mistakes the other for the servants. Henry seems to have the upper hand when he discovers that Eve is married, but not to Leslie, when his mother-in-law arrives and he has to bribe the other couple to impersonate his alibi, Captain Pierse and Mrs O’ Sullivan.

Girlfriend Mary has to play the servant, much to her annoyance, but it looks as though things might work out until the real Captain Pierse O’ Sullivan arrives followed by Henry's wife. Hilarious disguises donned by Mary, Perky, Eve and Leslie might just save the day!

Holiday Snap has been long known as one of the best examples of comedy farce ever staged in the West End and Broadway. It is the right mix of fun and frolics by Chapman and Pertwee, masters of their art who know where the funny bones are located. This is just the latest in a long line of very successful productions by this very talented group over the past 12 years.

Cast includes Michael Olwill, Andrew Galligan, Siobhan Lynch Clarke, Eamonn Gaffney, Maggie Lynch McCabe, Geraldine McSherry, Michael McCabe and Michelle and Cronin Lynch.
