Claire into final five of Glór Tíre

Tensions on TG4’s Glór Tíre were at an all-time high last night as the first of the live eliminations kicked off and the viewers’ votes determined that Galway’s Pat Craven and Sabrina Fallon were to be sent packing. The grand finale is fast approaching and the fight for a place in the final three is on. Meath’s Claire Dillon still in the running and is counting on the votes of the public to get her through to the final on Tuesday 11th April.

The remaining seven contestants must battle it out but only three will be lucky enough to be crowned the winner of Glór Tíre 2017 and become Ireland’s next country music star.

It’s all to play for again this week, and the votes of the public are crucial at this stage in the competition as two contestants will once again be eliminated next Tuesday 28th March at 9.30pm. The pressure is on, and no one is safe as we edge one step closer to the grand finale.

Since the much-hyped series premiere aired on 3rd January, we have watched nine singers from all over Ireland take to the stage in the Quays Live Venue in Galway. The contestants battled it out each week for a prize of €5,000 sponsored by Louis Fitzgerald. Each singer shone in their own concert episode where they performed both alone and accompanied by their Glór Tíre mentor.

Next week’s episode will leave five contestants in the running for a place in the Grand Final on Tuesday 11th April. In the Elimination Episodes, contestants can be saved by the in-house judging panel but in the concert episodes and the final, they ultimately depend on the public’s vote.

Glór Tíre airs every Tuesday on TG4 at 9.30pm until 11th April.
