Shanahan hero of hour in Netflix series

Navan actor Gerry Shanahan, (‘The Best Offer’, ‘Product of a Nation’) has just finished a lead role in Italian/American Production ‘Feel The Dead’. It is a six-part TV horror drama for Netflix.

The series is produced by Real Dreams Entertainment Srl, Italy and Oscar/Emmy winning producer Phillip B Goldfine of Hollywood Media Bridge. It was shot on Mount Etna in Sicily over a number of months and also stars Estella Warren (Planet of the Apes, Kangaroo Jack). It was written by Adriana Marzagalli/John Real and directed by John Real.

Gerry plays the role of ‘Walter’, a retired army man who, on vacation with his wife Olivia (Fiona Whitelaw), ends up leading a group of people to safety during an apocalyptic event. Gerry is no stranger to Italy, having appeared in many movies and TV series there, since his first visit in 2007 for ‘Colour from the Dark’. He has appeared with Donald Sutherland and Geoffrey Rush in ‘The Best Offer’ directed by Oscar winning director Giuseppe Tornatore.

He also, finished shooting feature ‘Be Good or Be Gone’ for Barbershop Triplet Productions in Ireland last year. He has worked with some of Ireland’s top actors, including Gerard McSorley, Sinead Cusack, Colin Farrell. A number of other projects upcoming include features ‘Full Circle’ in Ireland, ‘In Articulo Mortis’ and another project for Real Dreams Entertainment in Italy.
