Trumpet player brings Valentine show to Navan

Niall O’Sullivan, internationally-acclaimed Irish trumpeter, starts his debut nationwide tour ‘My Funny Valentine’ on 4th February in Belfast, then travels to Newbridge, Navan, with a concluding gig on Valentine’s Day at the Civic Theatre, Tallaght. To make this tour even more romantic, Niall will be joined on-stage by his own Valentine, vocalist Shóna Henneberry.

Niall O’Sullivan is a cross-genre trumpet star, he started his musical career in the Artane Boys Band, Dublin.
Niall has sold out venues across Ireland and the USA, and most recently performed as a guest artist for Josh Groban’s Irish tour. He has performed on numerous occasions with the RTÉ National Symphony and Concert Orchestra’s, and featured as a soloist for ‘Sunday Miscellany Live at Christmas’ where his rendition of Damian Rice’s ‘The Blower’s Daughter’ could be heard in homes throughout Ireland on Christmas morning.
Niall has performed with some of the biggest names in music including Amy Winehouse, Michael Búble, Tom Jones, Dionne Warwick, José Carreras and has recorded with multi Grammy winning legend Larry Carlton, Danielle de Niese and Kim Criswell.
He is also an international performing artist for Schilke Trumpets, Chicago.

My Funny Valentine, will feature performances from Ireland’s finest musicians with beautiful arrangements of jazz favourites, classical masterpieces, pop ballads alongside songs from stage and screen. The show is a celebration of the world’s most loved songs and melodies. Niall will be joined by guest vocalists Shóna Henneberry, Simon Morgan and Cormac Kenevey to perform works from his three number one selling releases including the timeless Moon River, the Godfather, Stardust, Libertango and My Funny Valentine.

Niall says: “2016 was a fantastic year for me and I am very excited to start 2017 touring with ‘My Funny Valentine’. This tour will allow people to be taken away by beautiful arrangements of timeless classics. The show will offer something different for Valentine's and get people in the mood for the the most romantic day of the year.”

In addition to this, Niall also announced today a gala concert in aid of the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation on 8th February at the National Concert Hall with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra. In this concert Niall will perform hits from his latest album, ‘Niall O’Sullivan and Friends’, which was produced by the legendary international classical musician Julian Lloyd Webber. This concert will also include orchestral favourites and special guests.
