The cast of 'the Plough and the Stars'

Navan group staging Sean O'Casey classic

Navan Theatre Group's 25th anniversary production is 'The Plough and the Stars' by Sean O’Casey, directed by Caitríona Heslin, and running at the Solstice Arts Centre, Navan, from Wednesday 23rd to Sunday 27th November.
Set in 1916, Sean O’Casey’s classic tragic-comedy celebrates the profound human power of people. The Plough and the Stars explores deep truths about human relationships and how heroism can be found in the most unlikely places. It brings to life the story of the ordinary men and women who lived and loved and laughed and died in the tenements and streets of Dublin in 1916.
The cast and production team of The Plough and the Stars are currently putting in many hours of hard work at rehearsals to ensure that once again Navan Theatre Group does justice to O’Casey’s masterpiece which is regarded as one of the most entertaining and human plays to emerge from 1916.
Navan Theatre Group first presented this play in 1997 in The Community Centre in Trimgate Street. Many of the 1997 cast and production team are still active with the group. The group is honoured to have the opportunity produce the play again in the centenary year and also to mark its 25th anniversary.
