Colette Fitzpatrick and Pat Kenny.

Kenny returns with new TV3 show

TV3 will, tomorrow night (Wednesday 5th October) broadcast a brand new live landmark current affairs programme hosted by veteran broadcaster Pat Kenny and TV3’s Colette Fitzpatrick.

Pat Kenny Tonight will deal with the important news and current affairs issues of the week. The show will provide in-depth analysis, featuring one-on-one interviews with leading political figures and the big newsmakers of the day.

In addition there will be a live audience of up to 150 people at the Virgin Media TV3 HD Studio in Ballymount each week.

Both Pat and Colette were at TV3 today where media were invited along to have a first look at the new studio set ahead of its first airing tomorrow.

Looking forward to his first show, Pat Kenny, said: “It’s great to be back on live television at such an exciting time when so many important things are happening in in Ireland and the world. Domestically we have a fragile Government with issues from the Eighth amendment to Brexit that are going to pre occupy us. International the prospect of Trump’s Presidency is dramatic, even a Clinton Presidency will impact globally and the on-going standoff in Syria means that current affairs will rarely have been more challenging. Throw in immigration and the rise of the right wing and you have a potentially explosive mix.”

Colette Fitzpatrick, said: “I’m really looking forward to the show. It’s going to be must-watch TV every Wednesday. We have our first programme pretty much already prepared but that could all be thrown out come Wednesday as we react to breaking news. Remember, anything can happen on live television.”
