Carrickmacross Arts Festival opens on Thursday

Carrickmacross Arts Festival 2016 takes place this week with music by Delorentos, Kila, Wallis Bird, The Frank and Walters, Declan O'Rourke, Wyvern Lingo, Sanzkrit, Elephant and Third Smoke, comedy from Apres Match's Barry Murphy, Colum McDonnell, Niamh Marron and Michael Downey plus live art demos from Barry Jazz Finnegan, and more. The festival runs from Thursday August 11th to Sunday August 14th.

Renowned for its ability to intrigue and entertain people from the age of eight to 80, Carrickmacross Arts Festival returns this year with another stellar line-up of art, music, comedy, drama, poetry, film, crafts and artisan trade stalls.

The family-friendly event spans four days and takes place on the grounds and gardens of Callan’s of the Bridge venue. Carrickmacross Arts Festival was established in 2014 with the aim of showcasing the best original creative talents from the Monaghan, Cavan, Louth and Meath areas. Every year the festival strives to shine a spot light on the finest artists from this region, whilst pairing them with well known established acts from further afield.

The festival maintains an ethos of “making art accessible to everyone”. In short this means showcasing a mix of high end art and artists with big name popular acts.

Carrickmacross Arts Festival is perfect for families and individuals who want the “festival experience” without the muddy camping and sleepless nights. With that in mind, Carrickmacross has a fantastic range of luxury accommodation options for all tastes and budgets. Local hotels and B&Bs offer special packages for anyone attending the festival.

Tickets are on sale at www.carrickmacrossartsfestival.com. Please be aware purchasing tickets is the only way of guaranteeing entry.
