Seven suspects for Red Rock murder

The hunt is on in Red Rock to find Brian McGonigle’s killer and there is no shortage of suspects with seven characters all under scrutiny. But viewers will have to wait until the soap returns in September to find out who the murderer is.

The TV3 soap will finish this Thursday (26th May) for the summer with a season finale that will leave viewers guessing all through the summer months.

Top of the Gardaí’s suspects list is Jules McGonigle; his long suffering wife, Rachel Reid; Brian’s fifteen-year-old naive lover, her ‘at wits end’ dad Liam Reid, a local gangster called Mick Moran, Rachel’s heroin junkie ex-boyfriend Conor Tyrell, Angela’s stressed out husband and dad to Conor; Tommy Tyrell, and of course Sharon Cleere, the young guard who brought Brian down. But surely anyone could have killed the manipulative bully that was Brian McGonigle?

The highly anticipated final episode promises to keep viewers glued to the screen as Detective Nikki Grogan finally appears to get the evidence she needs to identify Brian’s killer. Everything will point to a certain person but is Nikki barking up the wrong tree?

The killer will be revealed in an hour-long special episode returning in September, but in the meantime Red Rock fans will be left guessing.

The compelling drama has been a whirlwind success for TV3 having been sold to Amazon Prime in the US and BBC in the UK. The series is set to air on the BBC in the UK this summer while Red Rock continues to hit the mark at home reaching on average 440,000 people weekly on TV3.

Tonight’s (Wednesday) episode sees Angela’s world completely torn apart when Tommy and Conor are landed as prime suspects in the investigation of Brian’s murder. Feeling betrayed by her best friend, Nikki is now more determined than ever to hunt down Brian’s killer once and for all. And in Thursday night’s finale episode, Nikki finally gets the evidence she needs to identify Brian’s killer. But which of the seven suspects could it be?

The brand new season of Red Rock in September will see the return of cast members that viewers have grown to really get to know and love over the past seventeen months, along with some brand new faces yet to be announced.

The season finale episodes of Red Rock air on Wednesday and Thursday at the later time of 10pm on TV3.
