Alan cantwell returns to tv3 news tonight

Alan Cantwell is to make a  return to TV3's news team, after an absence of almost three years.

Alan was one of TV3’s first employees when the station launched in 1998 and worked with the news team as a station anchor until 2012 when he decided to take a break and work on a number of different external projects.

Alan will re-join TV3 from this evening, Wednesday 28th October to front the channel’s recently launched main evening news: TV3 News at 8, and will also be part of TV3’s election coverage.

TV3 Group Director of News and Public Affairs, Andrew Hanlon, said: “I am delighted that Alan has decided to come back to TV3. He is a highly experienced newsman who brings a wealth of current affairs knowledge and on-screen presence to our increasingly popular nightly news broadcast.”

Alan Cantwell, said: “It’s great to be back with TV3 News, particularly to be part of the main evening news at 8pm. I’m looking forward to covering the general election and witnessing the next phase of TV3’s evolution under the ownership of Virgin Media.”

Alan is married to Denise Kennedy from Clavinstown, Drumree.
