A music video filmed in Navan and New York City  is racking up views on YouTube.

The video for the song ‘Home to Ireland’ by Brendan and the Blacksticks tells the story of a young man living abroad who decides to make the journey home.

The song and the video features and abundance of Meath talent with almost everyone involved being from Navan or the surrounding area.

“I heard the song a few months ago and it struck a chord with me as I am currently based in New York City. I contacted the song writer Brendan Kelly and asked could I make a music video,” says director Eamonn Norris.

The video itself was filmed around iconic parts of Manhattan and Meath and the band themselves appear in Berminghams Bar on Ludlow Street, Navan.

“We are very grateful to Berminghams for allowing us to film there. The bar provides the perfect setting for the pieces with the musicians. The singers Brendan Kelly and Lorcan McEvoy feel at home singing there which adds an air of authenticity to the video I think,” says Norris.

Norris has just finished up working on the fourth season of the popular American TV show ‘Blue Bloods’ with Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg.

“Andrea O’Connor from Dundalk was key 2nd assistant director on the show and she helped me get a position. I was given the chance to shadow direct on the last episode of the season by the co-executive producer David Barrett which was an amazing experience”.
