The Met comes to Drogheda with 'Prince Igor'

The Met is coming to Drogheda as part of Classical Arts Ireland’s live events programme onSaturday 1st March at 5pm. Local audiences in Droichead Arts Centre have the opportunity to seeBorodin’s great Russian opera, ‘Prince Igor’, live from the stage of the Met in New York as part of a huge global audience.

Ildar Abdrazokov sings the title role in the sweeping Russian epic, which hasn’t been performed in the Met in over 100 years. This new production, directed by Dmitri Tcherniakiov, has had rave reviews from the US and international press at its opening night.

Gianandrea Noseda conducts the lush score, famous for its celebrated Polovtsian Dances. The stunning cast also includes Oksana Dyka, Sergey Semishkur, Anita Rachvelishvili, Mikhail Perenko, Vladimir Ognovenko, Kiri Deonarine, Mikhail Vekua, Barbara Dever and Stefan Kocán. This is an unmissable operatic feast for all the senses.
