Lost Brothers for Saturday Night Show
The Lost Brothers, Oisin Leech from Navan and Mark McCausland from Omagh, will make an appearance on The Brendan O'Connor Show, on RTE 1 on Saturday night, 19th January. They will play the song, 'Now That The Night Has Come', from their latest album, 'The Passing of the Night'. They will then go on a tour with Glan Hansard in England and Scotland. The tour with Glen Hansard starts at the Barbican in London 30th January, and continues to the City Varieties Music Hall Leeds 31st January, The Sage Gateshead 1st February, Old Fruitmarket Glasgow, Scotland 3rd February at the Celtic Connections Festival and then the Royal Northern College of Music on 5th February. Their set on the shows with Glen Hansard will be 45 minutes in length. Oisín Leech says that "sometimes Glen asks us up at the end of his set and we might try a song for the laugh". The Lost Brothers will then play headline shows, at the Lantern Theatre in Sheffield on 7th February, the View Two Gallery Liverpool on 8th February and at the Molescroft Pavilion, Beverley East Yorkshire, on 9th February. "It's good to start the year off with the TV show because it's good fun playing the new songs and to come back fresh after the Christmas holiday", states Oisín . "We are looking forward to touring Scotland and England because we started out writing songs in Liverpool in 2006 and lived there for years. The Glen Hansard shows should be fun because a lot of them are already sold out and the theatres have a good sound system". "Then we look forward to doing our own shows around England too because Liverpool was our old home. Glasgow should be great because it's a festival called Celtic Connections. 2012 was a good year for us. We had a lot of fun. Who knows what will happen next year. We will be bringing out a new single called bird in a cage very soon too". Later in the summer they will perform at various festivals. They released a Christmas single in aid of the Peter McVerry Trust, supporting young homeless people in Dublin. The single, on Lojinx/Bird Dog Recordings, is called St Christopher. It includes their version of 'Moon River', the song made famous by Andy Williams who passed away recently.
