Favourite children’s toys
Through every occasion and because we can’t help spoiling our children, we invite toys and games into their lives. We watch their eyes twinkle as the kid’s toys we buy ignite excitement within them. To adults, the memory of playing with children’s toys elicits memories filled with fantasy that we can’t help sharing with our own children.
There is nothing better than watching your child play with his new toy train and remembering the days where you and your father assembled the parts. Through passing toys on to your children you are not only allowing them to explore their imagination but are creating a way to grow closer to them.
Although they are small objects, they bring fun and excitement into every child’s life. A life void of children's toys would lack magic. They allow children to explore the depths of their imagination through the creation of stories and integrating them into their playtime. Seeing your child smile is one of the greatest gifts that life can offer.
In addition to the entertainment factor, toys are noted to be fundamental to child development and growth. If you're not a fan of these objects that you might sometimes trip over, remember they are actually important for your child.
Of course there are always toy trends that peak in and out of popularity. There are new gadgets that light up, talk and spin. Every Christmas there is the newest doll that every girl wants.
It is tempting to follow the trends once in a while to make your little one happy. You will find yourself waiting in line in the early hours of the morning before work about to pay hundreds of pounds for an item. Every parent has done it once and we all do it because we love our children so much.
Just as there are fads, there are always toys that will remain classic with any child. The toys that might not ever go away that every child needs to have and that we had in our childhood. All of these toys remain favourites from young to older children. In fact, just about everyone can recall their favourite toy that was treasured when they were young.
Just as you had a teddy bear when you were a child, your five year old needs one to go to bed with. If your little one loses it he or she is endlessly searching the corners of the house until it is found. No sleep will be had until soft toys like this one are found.
As a parent you lovingly tuck a soft doll in with your child knowing they will sleep deeply in the night. Toys give children a sense of security and comfort. They won’t worry about monsters under the bed when they can clutch on to their favourite doll. Instead, the soft touch allows them a sense of safety.
Playing with dolls allows your child to have fun and relax but it also is a learning experience. In fact, playing with any toy is a learning experience. When a child plays with a doll they are learning more than you may think. For example, gender roles are established as are concepts of affection. When you play with your children and their doll you can show them what it means to be nurturing and fun.
Electronic toys are another toy favourite that offer a vast range of toy types. There are robots, game consoles, virtual pets and babies! These lively toys give children the heightened level of interaction that they might not find with other types of toys.
Many find electronic toys educational since many have a subject for the child to centre their thoughts around. However, don’t instantly think that if your child plays with their game console too frequently, their brain will go to mush. Many toy manufacturers are recognising the importance of education in toy making.
Children grow with toys and themselves to learn what they find most pleasing. Playing with toys allows children to learn about themselves and spark interests that might last with them a lifetime. For example, perhaps your small child loves number games and discovers they are good with figures.
Remember, just as toys bring the fun out of children, they also are tools that can be used for self-discovery. Make sure you vary your children’s toys to give them more than one option. Also, remember your children may have different interests to you. Be open minded about the kind of toys you buy and allow them to allow them to explore their interests.
Clap, tap, dance, jump! Music is an integral part of any child’s growth. Through song we teach them culture, customs and language. Musical toys can be highly educational and entertaining for any child. These toys are excellent for every age group. If your young one is a baby, toddler or in nursery musical toys help form a rhythm and beat to everyday.
Perhaps introducing musical toys into their life will form a passion for song or dance? This could then spur an interest in taking up a musical instrument or singing in a choir. Musical games can cognitively engage children and act as music lessons in disguise.
Make sure to play plenty of games with your children. Not only will these games stimulate your little one's mind but they will also create a setting for valuable bonding time. Don’t overlook the power of sitting down to play one board game. It creates the environment for laughter, learning and allowing your children to feel loved.
Don’t overlook the role toys have in your child’s life. They are necessary tools for understanding the world around them and developing physically and emotionally. They are a way for you to show your child how much you appreciate them and a means for bonding. By continuing to make toys a part of your child’s life you are aiding them in their experience to learn about the world around them.
